Singleton Stemming Services supplies single size aggregate in 7mm, 10mm, 14mm and 20mm and blended aggregate in 10/7, 20/14, 32/14 and 32/63 for concrete, asphalt, sealing and drainage, along with blast stemming for open cut mines. Stock comes from our sister quarry Hunter Blue Metal and partner quarries across the Hunter and is bulk delivered from our Rutherford depot to Maitland, Newcastle, Singleton, Muswellbrook, Cessnock and beyond, with next-day delivery on standard stock lines.

Where our aggregate comes from
Our aggregate is sourced from our own quarry, Hunter Blue Metal, and from partner quarries across the Hunter Valley that we have worked with for years. Sourcing from more than one pit means we hold stock of every standard size and can keep supplying through wet weather, plant shutdowns and peak demand. Natural crushed rock aggregate is our core range.

All products are sold by the tonne and delivered in bulk. Sizes are nominal.
Single size aggregates
Single size aggregate is crushed rock screened to one nominal size with the fines removed. Use it where a consistent particle size matters: concrete mix design, asphalt and sealing, and free-draining layers. Available in 7mm, 10mm, 14mm and 20mm.

Blended aggregates
Blended aggregate combines two size fractions for a continuous grading. It packs more tightly than a single size, which improves workability in concrete and stability in fill and drainage layers. Available in 10/7, 20/14, 32/14 and 32/63.

Blast stemming
Singleton Stemming Services was built on blast stemming, and we still regularly supply it to Hunter Valley open cut mines. Stemming is inert crushed rock placed above the explosive charge to confine the blast. We size it to your hole diameter and the material being shot, and deliver to site on your blast schedule. Service area and delivery
We deliver from our depot at 8/42 Spitfire Place, Rutherford, which puts us within about an hour of most sites between Newcastle and Muswellbrook. Regular delivery areas include Maitland, Rutherford, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Cessnock, Kurri Kurri, Branxton, Singleton and Muswellbrook, and we deliver to mine sites and civil projects across regional NSW by arrangement.

How much aggregate do I need?
Crushed rock aggregate weighs roughly 1.5 tonnes per loose cubic metre. To estimate tonnes: length (m) x width (m) x depth (m) x 1.5, then add about 10 per cent for compaction and waste. A 20 metre by 5 metre drainage layer at 200mm deep, for example, is 20 cubic metres, or about 33 tonnes with allowance. Send us the dimensions and we will check the quantity before you order.
